The new 21K starts with a series of 5 climbs to the summit, then winds thru the Snowbird tunnel and descents on a combination of service road and singletrack. The last mile is buttery singletrack to the finish.

Starting at the Snowbird Center runners have a slightly downhill start on service road to a 600’ climb to the first singletrack section before climbing up “Chips Switchbacks”. A steep half mile climb. Three more climbs and descents to the summit of Snowbird at 11,000’ to the first aid station at Hidden Peak. Leaving Hidden Peak, runners will encircle the summit and head thru the Infamous Tunnel and descent a service road down Peruvian Gulch to the “Amphitheatre” turning downhill continuing down Peruvian Gulch. Once runners reach the Water Only aid station at the top of the Wilbere Chair, it’s buttery singletrack to the finish at the Snowbird Center.
Gear & Regulations
- Minimum water supply: 1/2 liter of hydration capacity
- Light wind jacket - due to existing winter conditions still present
- Ability to carry 1 liter of hydration capacity
- Cell phone with international plan
Music: Listening to music using earphones only, is tolerated, so long as it is safe to do so. Any earphones MUST be removed when crossing any roads, as well as on approach to, and whist at, any checkpoints and when approaching and passing any Safety Team members.
